Hobbycraft Haul!

***Newsflash*** Hobbycraft has opened a brand new store on Imperial Park, Bristol, near to where I live.. I can not contain myself (well I clearly didn't when I ventured in there on it's opening day last week).. whoops :)

Whilst Mr B pulled one of the saddest faces at the mention of going to a shop after work, I left him in the car and my purse and I had a date we could not miss!

First impressions of the store is that it's a fairly big and all on one level, fairly spacious yet lots of lovely goodies all nicely signposted - though I'm happy to wander around (trust me!). The staff were really nice and engaging too, bonus!

The following items (some not so small) ended up coming home with me....

First up, instead of spending £££ on these 'trendy' 3D initials you can get in most homeware aisles of supermarkers at the moment, I bought some Mache ones and at £2 each..what a bargain! Best of all I can decorate them how I want! There a good size, not too imposing, and I plan to put them up in our bedroom or lounge - when I decide how to decorate them :)

Next, I found myself in the 'paint your own' section and picked up a Paint Your Own Square Jewellery Box. I used to be a massive fan of plaster of paris when I was little - this box is already made so I just get to do the best part... decorate!! And at £1.50 (half price when I picked it up), I can't really go too wrong :)

Sooooo. even though the little jewellery box came with a couple of little paint pots, I could not resist this set of beautiful Ready Mix Paint in the pastel selection (to do all sorts of activities with - I hope!). I have about 8 bottles of poster paint left over from University upstairs BUT clearly not in these shades and I NEED these shades for the £3 price tag for all 6!

In the paint section, and thinking of the Mache letters I bought, I had to pick up some basic white spray paint and an on-trend copper/rose gold shade. In smaller cans these are the perfect size for smaller crafts and seemingly suitable for most crafty things I can't wait to give them a go (sorry I can't find them on the website to link them). The copper/rose gold shade may also come in useful to paint some of the 29 Natural Wooden Hearts that I popped in my basket for £2.00.. possible Christmas decorations (sorry.. I didn't mean to mention the C-word but..)!

My 3 final things are my favourite out of my whole shop!

Number 1... Pink patchwork quilt themed Ducktape. Sadly I can't link this one but they have a damn fine unicorn one available on their website (steps away from the purse)... Everyone needs a roll of Ducktape around ;)

Number 2... A gorgeous Pretty Posy Premium Paper Pad. I'm going to mainly use these for crafts but I thought some of them would make lovely backgrounds for pictures... a massive improvement from the current brown leather foot poof I've used for these shots for sure! It is a tad on the more expensive side for paper but these sheets are of such good quality and by no means cheap to feel (so much so they have a wallpaper-esque texture to them).

Number 3... For all of you that love a bit of stationary porn.. yes I'm going there... A massive set of Sharpie Pen Set in 23 colours/shades.. OMG these were right by the till and got me hook, line and sinker.. LOVE! In  all honesty if these were being sold at full price of £30.00 (they're currently on sale for £!5) I would've stepped away but be warned, life may get slightly more colourful now.

So all in all I had a good time, my purse did not (sadly) and these bits and bobs were as a result of only wandering around half of the store! Mr B was sad I'd spent so much but surely it's worth it as he got his own R initial out of it, right? :)

Good night everyone!

P.S Sorry that the photos aren't of great quality tonight.. it's a skill I need to develop!
